I cover Northern New Jersey's local communities with an emphasis on the BIPOC experience. I'm a proud Latina, a first-generation college graduate and always striving to represent all communities in my stories. When I'm not grabbing coffee with sources or on the phone with elected officials, I'm requesting public records and combing through social media. I've been published on MuckRock, a non-profit news site focused on public records law and FOIA, as well as on NBC4 Southern California's website and The Record and Daily Record newspapers, part of the USA TODAY Network. I've learned a lot throughout the years, including my time in political communications with former Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. I gained my broadcast skills at Telemundo Network News and learned how to produce and edit Spanish-language documentaries for the network. I also had the opportunity to work with NBC4 producers and reporters who taught me how to make breaking news interesting.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I pitched, produced, scripted and hosted the North Jersey Facebook Live digital morning show where I recapped the top stories of the day. I also produced, scripted and co-hosted the USA Today Network Atlantic Region’s 2020 Election show where we discussed legal weed in New Jersey, police reform, former President Trump and the country’s racial reckoning. |
